Josie and the Pussycats
reviewed by The Self-Made Critic
Josie and The Pussycats is the best movie ever!
You have got to see this movie! You will totally love it! Rachael Leigh Cook is so dreamy! And Tara Reid was totally funny! She should win an
Academy Award!
Josie and The Pussycats is the story of this really great band, called Josie and The Pussycats, and how they become very famous overnight when an evil
record company signs them and places subliminal messages in their music in an attempt to control the youth of today.
It's a really far-fetched story, because no one would ever think of putting subliminal messages in today's media. That would be wrong! But still,
the movie is absolutely wonderful!
The really great directors, Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan, should win Best Director next year for the incredible job they have done in this movie.
They have created an intelligent parody of modern media that both celebrates and mocks the culture in which we live. I was especially impressed with
their incredible use of the camera! They are so totally talented! They deserve more money for their next movie!
Rachael Leigh Cook plays Josie with a level of acting prowess not seen since the days of Hepburn or Bacall. She is so dreamy. She is also an
incredibly talented actress, and she deserves more money for her next movie! Tara Reid plays Melody, the drummer. She was totally funny! She was as
funny as Lucille Ball in her prime! She should win an Academy Award! She deserves more money for her next movie! Rosario Dawson plays Val, the bass
player. She was amazingly hip! She is a better actress than Meryl Streep! She deserves more money for her next movie!
This brilliant movie was full of great product placement! It had amazingly clever bits such as stuffing an unobtrusive Evian billboard in the back of
an aquarium, or flying in a plane with the Target logo all over the walls. That was so great! And Evian and Target are great, too!
The movie opens with the funniest parody of boy bands that has ever been created. A group called DuJour sing the best pop song ever recorded, called
"Backdoor Lover." It is so funny! Comedy like this hasn't been seen in the theater since Ace Ventura!
This movie is much, much better than any movie currently in theaters, especially Spy Kids, Bridget Jones' Diary, Joe Dirt and Along Came a Spider. If
you see those movies before seeing Josie and The Pussycats, you are a loser!
This movie transcends the usual "girl band becomes successful, girl band has hard time dealing with success, girl band bonds together in the end and
saves the world" formula. It speaks to each of us about the dangers of letting other people do our thinking for us. That is bad! You should all do
you own thinking! And you should all see this movie!
What makes the movie so great, besides everything else that is so great about it, is the music. The band really rocks out! These songs are great!
You should go out and buy a copy of the soundtrack right away! The song 3 Small Words should be a number one hit! You should request it from your
local radio stations today! In the songs, the voice of Josie is actually Letters To Cleo lead singer Kay Hanley, and she's great! She deserves more
money for her next record.
All told, Josie and The Pussycats is the best movie ever made. I'm giving it 5 1/2 Babylons. I loved it! It's much better than Cats! I'm going to
see it again and again!
Editor's Note:
When the SMC ran into my office to let me know he sent me the review, he was wearing kitty ears. It's an improvment over the "Vader Lives" T-Shirt.

don't seem to have much of an opinion on for some
reason. Weird.
